Visit Inverkip and the surrounding villages and stay in bed & breakfast accommodation:
Inverkip, Inverclyde. Now a village of grey sandstone at the mouth of the River Kip, Inverkip was at one time called Auldkirk because the Greenock people worshipped here before they built their own church in 1592. Inverkip church was originally granted to Paisley Abbey in 1170, and was held by the monks till the Reformation. The village was a notorious centre of witch mania in the 17th century. At the end of the 18th century it was noted for smuggling.
