Visit Lancing and the surrounding villages and stay in bed & breakfast accommodation:
Lancing, West Sussex. A dominating feature of the district is Lancing College chapel. The school was founded in 1848; the buildings are neo-Gothic and playing fields and grounds of about 500 acres surround them. Built on high ground, the school chapel is of cathedral-like proportions and has a vaulted roof of stone and chalk rising to a height of 90 ft; the windows are clear making it very light inside. There are fine tapestries and rich carving, including some canopies formerly at Eton College.
The Parish Church of St James the Less is at North Lancing in a setting of cedars, limes and other trees. It contains some 13th and 14th century work with later additions.
