Visit Silloth and the surrounding villages and stay in bed & breakfast accommodation:
Silloth, Cumbria, is a small port and coastal resort on the Solway Firth.
Holme Cultram Abbey, 6 miles South-East in Abbey Town, is the remains of a Cistercian abbey founded about 1150. The 12th century nave survives, used as the Parish Church of St Mary, with the west porch built by Abbot Chamber in the early 16th century. The abbey underwent many restorations in the 17th and 18th centuries. The fine arches of the nave were filled in to make the outer walls.
