Visit Capel Curig and the surrounding villages and stay in bed & breakfast accommodation:
Capel Curig, Conwy. This small village is prolific in hotels to accommodate the hill-walker and the angler. To this remote spot, hidden in Snowdonia, came Curig, a saint and Bishop of Llanbadarn, perhaps officiating in a church set by the lake that carries the name of Padarn, in the 6th century. A church, old and little, stands in the village beside a much more modern one built in Norman style. The hill Carnedd Moel-Siabod (2,860 ft) and Pen Llithrig-y-Wrach (Hag Slide, 2,621 ft) hold Capel Curig between them. The Llynau Mymbyr, two large stretches of water linked by a channel, are usually named the Capel Curig lakes; they offer the best of trout fishing and a C.C.P.R. Mountaineering Pursuits Centre.
